fiaz fareed

Fiaz Fareed lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. After three decades working in nuclear medicine, he is now retired and dedicates his time to doing relief work where it is needed. He has worked in most of the area hospitals and overseas in Saudi Arabia at different times.

Mr. Fareed is passionate about providing relief to the poor and the needy, wherever it might be. His motivation comes from the Prophet (peace be upon him), saying the most beloved people to Allah are those who are beneficial to others and the beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or to remove one of his troubles, or to forgive his debt or to feed his hunger.

visits to Bangladesh Rohingya Refugee Camp

My real work begins by serving people at large, Be it as a school, crossing guard, or a prison counselor, or simply to greet people by opening the door at the mosque.

I saw a need & decided to take it on…

Fiaz Fareed‘s passion to provide relief to the distress and the oppressed landed him in the Rohingya camp in Bangladesh. He works closely with OBAT Helpers to bring sustainability to the Rohingya Refugees in terms of education, water and medical needs. Having gained some experience, then he came to know about the refugees in Cameroon in Africa, and also in Gambia Sinegal and Guinea-Bissau in west Africa. In order to learn firsthand, he made a trip to all of these places in late 2023

He also visited Geneva Camp and provided relief to retain agriculture in flood-prone areas.

JOIN ME & SUPPORT OBAT HELPERS

If you are able, you must visit the camps…

I would encourage anyone who is seriously interested in making an impact to go to Bangladesh and visit the camps. I go often now and I am continually encouraged and inspired by the progress we are making there. When you see these people firsthand, these smiling children, these confident young adults, these hopeful and hardworking parents and grandparents… it reassures you that you are doing the right thing. You are making a huge difference in these people’s lives and, really, there is no better reward than that.

If you would like to learn more about my experience in the camps and the work I’ve been personally involved with through OBAT, you are welcome to contact me.
