This Ramadan, Your Giving Shapes Their Tomorrow

During this blessed month, OBAT Helpers is committed to fulfilling the amanah of Zakat and Sadaqah by providing food, education, and essential care to vulnerable families in Bangladesh. May your acts of charity become a source of hope, dignity, and lasting impact for those we serve.

our target: 6,000 families across 7 regions in bangladesh

A donation of $40 sustains a family’s food needs for 30 days, freeing them from the stress of survival. Your giving allows them to focus on their religious duties while you earn the reward of fulfilling your Zakat.

Areas Where Obat Helpers Utilizes Zakat Funds

Zakat funds are applied to the following eight key areas within our initiatives:

    1. Humanitarian Relief & Emergency Aid – Providing food, shelter, and essential supplies to those affected by crises and disasters.

    2. Education Support – Covering tuition fees, scholaships, and vocational training for underprivileged students.

    3. Healthcare Assistance – Funding medical treatment, surgeries, and maternal healthcare for eligible beneficiaries.

    4. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Projects – Installing water wells, hygiene facilities, and sanitation systems in underserved areas.

    5. Livelihood & Economic Empowerment – Supporting self empowerment initiatives, vocational training, and small business development for self-sufficiency.

    6. Orphans & Widows Support – Providing direct financial assistance, for food, clothing, education and other essential care to orphans and widows.

    7. Refugee & Displaced Community Support – Offering food, shelter, healthcare, and resettlement support to displaced families.

    8. Community Development – Enhancing social welfare through sustainable projects that benefit Zakat-eligible communities.

Zakat Fund Utilization & Direct Costs

We do not deduct any administrative expenses from Zakat funds. However, certain direct costs necessary for proper Zakat distribution are included, such as:

Needs Assessments & Beneficiary Selection – Conducting surveys and evaluations to ensure aid reaches the most deserving individuals.

Procurement, Packaging & Transportation – Managing logistics to deliver food, medical supplies, and aid efficiently.

Technical Supervision for Infrastructure Projects – Employing experts to oversee water well installations and other essential infrastructure.

Any other direct cost that will add value, impact and outcome of the funds used.

All general administrative, financial, and auditing expenses are covered by our general donations, ensuring that 100% of Zakat funds including direct expenses go directly to those in need.

In accordance with the Islamic principle of Tamleek, Obat Helpers ensures that Zakat is distributed in a manner that establishes clear ownership of the Zakat funds or assets by eligible beneficiaries. Wherever applicable, Zakat is given directly to recipients or provided in forms that result in their full and unconditional ownership, such as cash assistance, food packages, educational support, medical aid, or livelihood resources. Even when Zakat is utilized through structured programs or projects, Obat Helpers ensures that the ultimate benefit and ownership are transferred to Zakat-eligible individuals, fulfilling the Sharia requirement that Zakat reaches its rightful recipients with dignity, independence, and full compliance with Islamic jurisprudence.

  • Our Ramadan food package consists of essential raw, uncooked food items carefully selected to support families throughout the month. Each package includes rice, moshur dal (lentils), soybean oil, white atta (1 kg pack), fresh regular potatoes, salt (1 kg pack), dates, premium chola (chickpeas), and sugar (1 kg pack), providing balanced staples commonly used for iftar and suhoor during Ramadan.

While Ramadan is often associated with essential charity such as food distribution and emergency relief, Zakat can also be a powerful tool for long-term impact. At OBAT Helpers, your Zakat supports eligible projects beyond immediate aid, including our schools, primary education programs, tutoring centers, healthcare clinics, and livelihood-focused initiatives, serving those who qualify under Islamic guidelines. These programs not only meet urgent needs but also empower individuals and families to build stable, dignified futures while remaining fully Sharia-compliant.
